What is new

  • A stale selected Codex thread now recovers when you send: ClawDad preserves the old record, creates a fresh local thread, and continues the message there.
  • Older Mac and iPhone views that still hold the replaced thread ID are routed to the new thread automatically.
  • Historical threads stay untouched unless you select and send through one whose local transcript is definitively gone or belongs to another project.
  • Expired or reused ChatGPT refresh credentials now open a guided Sign In Again flow on the Mac that runs Codex.
  • The recovery flow clears the expired local login, opens OpenAI's browser sign-in, verifies the result, and restarts the shared Codex service.
  • The Mac reports Ready, Signing in, or Sign In Again without displaying or copying account credentials.
  • A paired iPhone explains when sign-in must be completed on its selected host Mac.
  • The live Codex model catalog, reasoning controls, shared app-server recovery, and iPhone-parity branding from build 39 carry forward.
  • Separate signed and notarized downloads support both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
  • Every build includes a checksum-verified Node LTS runtime and the matching ORP tools.
  • The guided setup, multi-computer routing, Remote Assist, Terminal Tabs, Read Aloud, speech-to-text, image attachments, directory creation, clipboard controls, and special commands carry forward.

What ClawDad installs

Node and ORP stay inside the signed ClawDad app. When you approve the Codex step, ClawDad uses OpenAI's official standalone installer to place Codex in ~/.local/bin. Terminal and ClawDad then share the same ~/.codex account and thread history.

Choose the right Mac download

Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. If it shows a Chip such as M1, M2, M3, or M4, choose Apple silicon. If it shows an Intel Processor, choose Intel Mac.

Pair your laptop to your Mac Studio

  1. Install this build on both Macs and keep ClawDad open.
  2. On the Studio, open Settings, choose Allow a Device, and copy the current pairing code.
  3. On the laptop, open Settings and paste that code under Remote Computers.
  4. Choose Pair Computer, then Open Remote Assist.

Make access work both ways

Generate a fresh code on the laptop and pair it from the Studio. Each direction is an explicit permission, so either Mac can be forgotten or revoked independently.

First Remote Assist session

The host Mac will ask for Screen Recording and Accessibility when those capabilities are first used. Approve the prompts on that host, reopen Remote Assist, and select the display you want from the viewer toolbar.

Keep your Codex work moving.
